Ultrasonic Lipolysis is a non-surgical weight loss treatment that uses non-invasive technology to breakdown and eliminate fat cells from the body. UL is a safer alternative to surgical options, like liposuction. UL works by using energy waves to heat the deep layers of the skin to reduce fat deposits and tighten the skin which will reduce circumference and shrink fat cells for fat reduction.

How Ultrasonic Lipolysis Works

What is Ultrasonic Lipolysis?

Ultrasonic Lipolysis is the use of ultrasound technology to break down fat cells below the skin. It is a non-surgical method of reducing cellulite and localized fat.

This procedure involves applying pressure on fat cells through ultrasonic vibrations. The pressure is high enough to make the fat cells break down into a liquid form. The body can then get rid of it as waste through your urine.

The broken-down fat cells go from the body to the liver where they are excreted as waste. This method of treatment is used along with other weight loss programs to help with getting rid of excessive fat. It is a preferred method to other invasive procedures of eliminating body fat. It is important to note that your weight could return if you consume a high-calorie diet.

How does Ultrasonic Lipolysis work?

Ultrasonic cavitation tones the body using radio frequencies and low-frequency ultrasonic waves. These waves form bubbles around fat deposits under the skin. The bubbles then burst, breaking the fat deposits into the interstitial and the lymphatic systems where they are drained. The fat deposits are changed into glycerol and free fatty acids. Glycerol is then reused by the body while free fatty acids travel to the liver and are excreted as waste.

Which body parts are best for ultrasonic cavitation?

Ultrasonic cavitation works best on parts with localized fat. Such areas include the abdomen, flanks, thighs, hips, and upper arms. This procedure cannot be performed on body parts like the head, neck, and other bony areas of the body

Is everyone suitable for this treatment?

Unfortunately not every one is suitable for ultrasonic lipolysis. Below is a list of who cannot have micro lift.

  • Pregnant and breastfeeding women

  • Persons showing skinfold lower than 2 cm

  • Infection or inflammation in the region where the procedure will be done

  • Individuals with a history of malignancies

  • People with a cardiac pacemaker or other metal implants

  • Persons taking medication that affects blood clotting

  • Individuals with serious medical conditions like diabetes

BEFORE & AFTERCARE ADVICE

Week before if possible/ if not days before

  • Liberal intake of water: More than 1 litre a day

  • Do not binge eat

  • Do not drink any alcohol the night before the session

The day of Ultrasonic Lipolysis appointment

  • Drink 1 litre of water (coffee, tea or cola does not count!)

  • Do not drink caffeine 3-4 hours prior to session

  • Do not drink carbonated drinks 3-4 hours prior to session

  • Do not have a heavy meal prior to session

  • Do not fast prior to your session. Not eating will make your body go into starvation mode and your session results will not be as significant

Possible Lipolysis Reactions

  • Ringing in the ears. This is caused by the sound waves passing from the skeleton to the ear

  • Increase in the need to urinate. This is due to the extra water intake and the process of eradication of fat from the body.

  • Increase in energy/restlessness.This is the body burning excess fat that has now been released as energy. You can make use of this by doing some cardio exercise, for example take a brisk walk, jog on the spot, dancing or anything to raise your heart rate and improve the process of lipolysis.

  • Sensation of heat. This is caused by the energy produced from the broken fat cells as they are imploding. This will stop soon after treatment.

  • Stinging on the skin surface. This happens where the nerves located in the epidermis react with the cooling gel. This will not cause major discomfort and will cease after treatment.

  • If you feel any discomfort during treatment please let us know so we can reduce the energy level.

  • Redness on the surface of the skin. This is heat related and should vanish within 2 hours after treatment.

  • Your circumference increases after treatment. This is due to trauma to the subcutaneous fat and should subside within 24 hours. The treatment can also cause mild bruising in some individuals although this is rare.
